Not surprised, I thought it was clear long ago that Google was not going to update or support Nik. It is sad if it becomes unable. But I have Ps CS6 and could put that on my wife's PC for "vintage" support of current plug-ins once I'm ready to move to Ps / Lr CC. Though if Microsoft updates Windows 10 (or whatever) to the point Nik stops working I'll just have to stop using it. It is not part of my regular workflow anyway.
Much of the remainder of the linked article goes off on a paranoid doomsday software rant. What makes them think that other programs will not come along as they have since the first few Apples and PCs. Companies come and go. The world does not stop at Adobe. Sure, I use Ps, because I like it not because of fear.
Hence the saying "There is no such thing as a free lunch".
Hey Google... you have all of the money 💰 that Apple does not already have in the bank... gift title and source code to me and I'll put a "Hog Team" together to define a feature set going forward and I'm confident we could define, develop and distribute a World Class platform for post processing... we have some smart cookies 🍪 on this site and we can structure an equity basis and make a few bucks as well. If you are seriously interested PM me and if we have enough interest, i'll contact Google. This is not a joke I got into the CAT Scan business this way when Pfizer exited the CatScan business.
Think about it... we could have some fun and make a few bucks as well.

What coffin? If you mean the Nik coffin it has now been lowered into the grave and all that is left is to cover it with dirt.

I read that article, seems as maybe Google is creating something probably to sell (my speculation) because the article stated that Google bought it to strip the relevant code,
Nik is a good program sad to see it go but there are other similar programs out there.
