Blue Heron caught a huge fish

Yesterday, I saw that a blue heron caught a huge fish. That fish must be at least 13" long and at least more than two pound in weight. The heron caught the fish around 6.30 pm. There was a lady photographer as well shooting the struggle of the heron to swallow the fish. We watched and photographed the heron for more than an hour but she/he could not eat it. When we were about to leave it flew further away with fish in its mouth. When I was leaving from that area at 8.00 pm, I saw that poor heron was still struggling to swallow the fish but could not. I think she might have given up.

Thanks for such an interesting series of photos. The eye is bigger then the stomach or, in this case, the beak!
