On Memorial Day Weekend...Our American Bird of Peace

Lame-Duck Loc: Fresno, California

The mourning dove is one of my most photographed bird subjects. In the central valley they are very plentiful, and can be found in abundance year around. I live very close to Fresno State University, which is a major agricultural college, and there is always grain fields of some kind growing, where ducks, geese, and doves can be found. I love sitting in uncut corn fields, because I can completely hide and remain unnoticed by my intended subjects. The follow photos were taken here at the college and at one of the wildlife refuges that I regularly visit.
