I know these need a lot of work, especially getting the correct lighting.

These are excellent photos. I happen to like the blue, it gives your photos a great balance.
The only thing that is important, does it achieve the affect that you want

There is no such thing as right or wrong in this type of work, I think they are beautiful photos. This requires timing and a little luck. The white balance setting you selected gives these an ethereal look to them. Love it!
Thank you tturner! You are the first to mention timing so I will explain. I used the Pluto Trigger with optional water dropper. This will drop two drops and allow you to set the timing of each. It takes a bit of experimenting, but you set the timing for the first drop to splash and rebound to its highest point. Then you set the timing for the second drop to collide with the first. This would be practically impossible without such a devise.
The Pluto Trigger is also a great tool for capturing lightning strikes. It can be set up to trigger your camera by sound, motion, light, smile, etc. It even has a laser to trigger your camera if the beam is broken. I have only tested the water drop feature so far, but I think this product is well worth the money.
Here is a review of the Pluto Trigger if anyone is interested:

How cool is that???
Thank you Mary Kate! If you go to Pluto Trigger's web page. You can see some much better images taken with this equipment. My son (Chris Dryden) has several of his images there.
Thanks for that thumbup John.

Thanks so much Rick! I was very pleased with the first results and hope to improve on these.
Beautiful and mysterious mood created in these shots!!!
Very nicely done. The white balance is an easy fix. The captures are great.

Wow. I am a newbie, but looking at these great shots of yours (and others from all you ugly hedgehoggers) motivate me to work, study, and practice. Please keep them coming. I learn from all of them.
The more I learn, the more I discover I don't know. It is frustrating and motivating at the same time as I am so competitive, I can't just settle for ok. (My worst trait) THanks again all of you for sharing your talents. Thanks sugar'sDaddy
I did not even consider the color only their forms; wonderful job my friend!
