I've posted several questions and added a fair number of comments to other Photography topic comments but this is my first under general chit chat. There have been a few strings bemoaning how rock 'n roll hasn't really come up with anything new for the past several decades. I'm in complete agreement with that assertion but maybe that's not always bad a thing. Here's an incredible version of Simon & Garfunkel's "Sounds of Silence" done by no other than a current heavy metal band. I have to admit, while Heavy Metal isn't to my taste, that music form has some incredible talent both in vocals and guitarmanship. There are a number of versions on the internet but this one has good fidelity (if you remember the song, you know what that means) and is a good version.

Thanks, I do agree, but that same song (done by Disturbed) was being posted here on the forum just about a month ago or something like that!

I DO NOT LIKE heavy metal. However, Disturbed, is different in a strange way. I have always like Simon and Garfunkel's Sound of Silence. This puts a little different twist to it. I'll have to look for more od Disturbed music and see if it all runs like this.l

I do like the Disturbed version of this song, however, the 'Official Video' version is far better than this live cut. Check that one out before you pass judgement.

Absolutely astonishing! It's a little disturbing to see multiple versions of Peter singing the background "ooooooh ooooohs" but incredibly beautiful harmony. Just goes to show that the song can be sung in any number of different ways and the message still holds up.

Sorry, but today's musicians can't hold a candle to the ones from the 60's and 70's. I couldn't listen to it past the first few seconds. Their voices did not even harmonize and they couldn't stay together. An insult to Simon and Garfunkel.
