I have a student that has a D7100. I am not a Nikon user so I am having trouble figuring out if her camera has a panoramic shot setting? All my Sony and Canon cameras have a Panoramic shot setting. Does the D7100 have that setting and if so, how do I put it in that mode? Unfortunately she lost the instruction manual for her camera. Thanks

Nope, it doesn't. Have to do it the old fashioned way, take multiple shots and stitch them together.

I have a D7200 that does not have a Panoramic setting, so I wouldn't expect the D7100 to have one either.
She can download a manual free of charge from NikonUSA.

A "prosumer" camera like the Nikon D7100 would not have a panoramic setting.

Thanks all. Just one more reason I'm not a Nikon fan.

I don't know of any DSLR that has a panoramic mode. What Sony or Canon DSLR do you have that has a panoramic mode?

My Sony a65, Sony a99ll, Sony a5000 and my Canon SX50 all have Panoramic mode. It is right on the shutter mode dial just like A,S,P, M, etc. it is easy and simple. If you go on the Sony site you will see that all the Sony a7* series cameras have panoramic mode.. Sorry Nikon Syndrome people. Happy Shooting

Panasonic (My LX100 included) also offer this feature.
I do think it's really just a bit of a software gimmick to sell more cameras
In camera processing of the jpeg file is always a tradeoff, imo, versus capturing a RAW file for post processing.

Is any of the cameras you listed a DSLR??

Canon SX50 is a bridge camera, comparable to Nikon P900, not to any Nikon DSLR.

From Nikon -

"When it comes to DSLR's, manufacturers focus on capturing the data rather than post processing the data (may be because its not a camera's job). The reason is simple: tools are already in the market to do this job. Built-in post-processing softwares can never compete with the tools such as Adobe Photoshop. So why wasting effort on something which cannot be won !!
However, Nikon has introduced a DSLR with panorama feature. Do check it out
Nikon D3300 HDSLR | DSLR from Nikon"

Apparently, the D3300 could do pano, but that feature was removed.

My D7100 does not have that mode but my P520 bridge camera does, although I seldom use it. I did try it on a river boat cruise on the Danube with mixed results.

You mentioned that she lost the manual. She should download the "NIKON Manual Viewer app to her phone or tablet and then add the D7100 manual. She will then be able to search much faster. I shot with the same camera if she has more questions.

As stated by others, there is no "panoramic" setting on the Nikon D7100. You do it the old way. for instance, Lightroom has a panorama creator which allows you to input several images that could (theoretically) give up to a 360 degree panorama.
