Two shots. Not best. One not sharp. Used Sony a6000 automatic mode. D500 manual 35mm lens.

Why didn't you shoot both either on manual or auto? Might have had an accurate comparison if you had.

hope you do, since the Sony's color is awful. That being said, Sony's menu system is awful as well.

Jccash - Looking at just the flowers alone, neither image seems to be sharp. The green leaves on the second shot seem very sharp (probable point of focus). In your defense, my vision is weakened by age and disease. /Ralph

Well thanks a lot buddy. LOL At least we know where you stand. Got it for the wife as a point and shoot. I'm not going to be using it that much...

I agree with you. Had spot focus and should have picked a different AF...

I do not really know what type of a comparison you were trying here but they are two different cameras to begin with although they have similar sensors. Lenses and technique make a difference as you very well know.
Your first shot is underexposed and needs exposure adjustment, sharpening and color correction. The second shot is less underexposed but still needs exposure correction, color adjustment and slight sharpening.
The a6000 from what I know is a very good little camera. I will save comments on the D500 because we all know how competent of a tool it is.

Good luck with that! Sony should be horse-whipped for selling a camera that has a gobbly-gook menu system and a manual that stops somewhere south of telling you how to load the battery. It's an A+ camera with F- documentation. I know, I know, "Billy-Bob Noshmoshkapop has written a great book on the A6000." It's Sony's job to provide operating instructions, not ours. Using that model, they'd sell cars without wheels.

Not that I'm bitter...

Great science here. How many variables did you change for the comparison. Camera, 1; Mode, 2; Lens type, 3. Can not understand what your intent was for this posting. Can you explain please. 😊
