Went barning ( new word ) today.
I really like the 'barning' idea, and you have sparked that desire in me.
We have some rainy weather predicted off and on for a few days, which
means no heavy, direct sunlight. Might be some good barning weather.
Thanks, and all the best to you and yours . . .

Nice shots. Nothing says "America" like barns. My wife is a painter and is always asking me to take pictures of barns she might use as a painting subject. Does anyone know how to locate old barns like these? The New Hampshire Historical Society list barns in their registry but not the addresses. Any ideas?
I have to say that I find it great that you and your wife have hobbies(?) that can 'tend to blend'.
I feel pretty sure that you have taken 'shots' of her painting a barn photo or two.
Very stately barns. Lovely set.

Use discretion when approaching people for information as this, but try the local Grange office, or a grain elevator or a farm supply organization. These folks know barns in their area because they do business with the farmers. You are invading the privacy of some folks, keep that in mind. Good luck with your pursuit.
A very productive 'yarning' day; you came back with some great shots of old barns.
Thanks to all for your kind comments. I don't know of any way you can track down old barns. There is no registry of addresses of barns. I find mine by traveling back roads and keeping my eyes open. Happy hunting.

I find most of my barn for photos just by going out for rides. Another option is to ask your local police officers as they are always out patrolling the local roads and can give you directions to them. Good Luck.
