Occasionally the undead beast looked up, to make sure none of its squirrel kin were anywhere within eyesight.
Then it returned to its victim, continuing to satiate it's unnatural desires.
Suddenly, it hears something- It realizes someone or something is nearby!
No, Noooo...!!! I have been discovered!
It stares at me with evil eyes and evil heart!
I run, as fast as my feet can take me. Hopefully I won't stumble..... and... FALL!!!

Tree Rats as I refer to them critters, are notorious nest raiders. Often seen them pursued by a parental bird along the upper branches of our trees protecting their nest and fledglings. Perhaps this is one case that turned into a battle to the death.
