Well started when i was 14 with pentax, did reasonably well as far as taking decent pictures and actually selling some..lost the urge somewhat when i had to earn a living, now purchased a nikon 3100 and have renewed the passion. been watching this website for a month or so since i found it, i fully believe its not about the equipment you own or the programs you use but its really your ability to see a picture before you take it... as long as it moves you it doesnt have to be the sharpest focused or anything , just a great photo, to me... alot to learn with these new cameras today..hope to learn something new here every day...
Welcome.... Your picture posted would be a lot better if the top left side wasn't all blown out. I'm guessing that was the sun shining over the top of the cross, it really didn't add anything to the photo, that's just my opinion.
Best to take color photos and then turn them into black & white, you get much better B&W photos that way.

Renomike hit the nail on the head !
Welcome to the UHH
Welcome fotog,
You make a couple of interesting points, however, If you see an image that moves you. I can think of no reason at all why it shouldn't be sharp,in focus well exposed and well composed !!!!!
Re your photo, maybe a slightly lower viewpoint would have got rid of the flare, and is that a manipulation artefact I see in the right hand side of the figures chest ?
Keep up the good work. Normanc

actualy i like the flare as it represents the light of the Lord. which worksbetter in black and white. all important details are in focus. good shot
