Hi, I have a Fuji FinePix S9000 camera it takes two cards a XD and a CF card, the slot for the CF will not allow the card to go in and the eject button seems to be broken or stuck somehow, the XD card works fine my grand daughter wants it to learn how to take photos so may have to have her just use the XD card. I emailed Fuji regarding situation but they don't have parts to repair this camera any longer, does anyone have any idea who I can get in touch with to see if it can be repaired? not Rick who is on here, any suggestions would be appreciated thank you in advance

If the Completed Auctions on Ebay are any indication, I would not repair the camera even if parts were available. Instead, use the camera with the remaining card slot. When your grand-daughter gets the last little bit of good out of it, it will have served it's purpose well and can "rest in peace" in that place of honor where all cameras go to gather dust, the mantle.

As a side note, there are plenty of great starter cameras on sale right now. :)

ok thanks I think I am just going to have her use the XD card and forget about getting it repaired

As Strange implied, look on ebay. You can buy one for under $60. Or, the very slightly improved S9100. I had an S7000 and S9100, but I don't remember either having a slot for a CF card. I guess I never used it.

Due to the fast advances in photographic equipment, older equipment looses it value rapidly. The cost of repair would probably be more than a newer camera.

I have used C.R.I.S. in Arizona https://www.criscam.com/repairs . They've fixed two lenses and a camera for me. Excellent work and good people to deal with. Don't know whether they work on Fuji. That is a pretty old camera and it may not be possible to get parts.

But also, it may cost more to fix it than it is worth. You may be able to get a Nikon D3400 refurbished by Nikon from Cameta for less money. Fuji makes great cameras but the S9000 is over 12 years old. I couldn't even find a price for it on eBay except for parts.

thank you everyone for the advice regarding the Fuji I am going to give it to her with just the XD card as that works just fine, when she gets a feel for that camera and learns how to use it a little more I will get her a more updated one, again thanks for all the info and help

no grand daughter can still use it camera works fine just the cf slot didn't she can still use the XD card when she learns on this one I will get her a better one
