Beautiful! Black and White conversion?

I tried a few black and white conversions, and they just didn't grab me like this one.
Brought the saturation down to have just a touch of color. I really like the "almost black and white" look, but I think I'm one of the very few... Brides rarely choose it for large prints.

But.......it makes me happy.

Very nice, can I ask if you used a modifier on your on camera fill?
It seems the fill brought up the right side of her face, dress and flowers. I really like the desaturated look too.

I love this Bob. Good job spotting that window light opportunity. Really cool that it repeats itself in the background. ALSO, the pose. Instead of holding the bouquet, it is nestled in the dress with her gazing at it. Love it. I think I will steal the idea if the opportunity comes up

No modifier, just a Yongnuo 565 hand held straight above my head with the YN 622 tx and rx system to fire it.

My "on camera" flash was never on the camera throughout the day, it was either me holding it up, or my voice activated light stand.

It was only the second time working with the VAL, and I need to get our communication better in sync. I got a little tired of repeating myself, so I started hand holding the flash myself. I didn't bring a 3rd stand, so I was stuck as far as moving the fill around.

Normally, I don't lose patience, but it was a LONG day, which started with everyone showing up 1-1/2 hour late to the church, and it was in the middle of nowhere, so we really couldn't leave and come back. Thankfully, the first person (mother of the bride) showed up before I just threw in the towel. I've honestly never had that happen before.

Thats looks great, I don't think of a bare flash as having 'soft' qualities. Something else I have to try.
Generally I have my 580exII mounted on 622C on my Voice activated light stand, so I can change power levels from my camera. Indoors it is my Main, outdoors my fill. I'm just changing over to ón camera fill'. Thanks for explaining that.

You are correct, it will not be a "soft" light as a main, but as a fill, since it is just filling in the shadows, it doesn't really create the harsh shadows like it does when it is the brightest light in the group. I hope that makes sense.

The voices in my head all seem to get it, but it doesn't always translate well when it comes out my fingers onto the keyboard.
