Tripod to monopod

You can use your tripod as a monopod in this way. Extend the top shaft all the way up. Keep the legs folded in and extend only one leg down all the way. You now have a monopod.

You would not be allowed to do this where tripods aren't allowed. A tripod is a tripod. Not a very stable platform. Heavier than needed. Consider purchasing a monopod. Best of luck.

Or, you can just buy one of the convertible tripod/monopods that come with one removable leg.

Most tripods now have a monopod included. A lot of places will let you in with a monopod but not a tripod.

Sorry...but if you have a tripod and 'remove one leg' don't you have a bipod?? :-)
