HI!!! New from Southern California...
Hey there guys!
I have been in the business of photography for almost 3 decades! and been in love with creating images all of my life! I first fell in love with this, while helping my father to develop x-rays in his darkroom, I remember being 10 years old, and in complete darkness... my father cutting a piece of the x-ray material, and putting it inside an old 126 camera that my grandmother had given me... took it outside, did the "click" and brought it back into the darkroom... processed it, and VOILA!!! there is an image on this little piece of plastic!!! ever since then, I have been fascinated with photography! Photography is not just what I do as a job, it is what I love doing! I have been lucky enough that clients have taken me to their destination events, been to Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica and lots of places here in the U.S., and have been (again( lucky to have presented for different groups of professional photographers, both here in the U.S., and abroad.
I was also VERY lucky a few months back!!! While attending WPPI2017 in Las Vegas, I was the winner of a Sony A7R2!!! and it came with a Sony 85mm f/1.4 G-Master!!! you needed to be present to win! and my name was the SECOND name that they called! the first guy was NOT present (Thank you Jonathan Lee for not being there, I owe you lunch!) so they called my name, I screamed! and Sony handed me these two beautiful boxes with great equipment inside!!!
Since that day, my life changed!!! I used my new Sony in the first job, and decided that Sony was my new mate! I had a great marriage with Nikon for over 20 years, but this EVF, 42mp, smaller body and facial and eye focusing did it for me! I sold all of my Nikon gear, and bought a few lenses to replace the ones I sold... only a few! because Sony lenses are expensive! but they are GREAT!!! No, I am not a sell-out, I simply have seen the light that Sony is putting out on photography! These cameras are game-changing! and I think this will be the future of photography! mirrorless is great, silent (if you set it that way) and awesome!!! Could I do the same pictures with Nikon or Canon...? sure! but Sony makes it lighter and more fun to do it! I have now purchased a Sony A6300 as a back-up body, and a Sony A6000 as a family, take to the park/zoo/concert/birthday party camera.
Nice. I never get that lucky :-) Welcome

Aloha Papini and welcome to UHH.
Welcome to the Hog Papini, enjoy.
Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the UHH! Since you have found the pleasure of a light weight, flexible Sony you will find it joining you on all your jaunts as I do. I still have the Nikon D800e for serious landscapes and the Canon SX-50HS for birds and animals but the Sony is great for kids and grandkids. Enjoy your visits!
