Wow. I just learned all kinds of stuff about typing and keyboards. Now then, if I could just keep my cat from walking all over the keys when I am trying to type...........

A smallish shot gun should do it!

The phrasing of Ur Q reminds me of the French diplomat who asked one day why international conferences always had to be conducted in English. An American said, "So they won't be required in German."

Oh, noooo! (I might hit the monitor) No, just kidding! He is so cute when he does it, I just roll with it and usually send the letter or email with the side note, "Izzy says, Hi!"

Not my WASD mechanical keyboard. No light comes on, but ever since I learned to touch type in eighth grade, I haven't had any trouble with inadvertently hitting the cap lock key.

Cool observation.

Having explained that, I wonder why the spell check is too stupid to recognize the difference between "their" and "there" or "they're".

If only, the problem lies in the computer not knowing the complete thought of the composer.

Thank you. I just tested it and a tiny light over the right side number keys went on.

Good one Bob, but for those who might stumble across this chain and are looking for a solution...

You don't have to retype the section. Select the offending text and hit Shift-F3. Do this repeated times and watch what happens. The selected text goes to all upper-case, then to all lower-case, then the first word in each sentence is capitalized and then it all repeats.

This has saved me from the plight of the OP many times. Passwords are another problem.

Tried using the Shift-F3 and iT wORKS!!

This works fine on my Dell Windows 10 machine. Thanks for the tip as this has been a problem that has plagued me for years.

I do not understand why if you put the caps on and hit the key to get #,$,& or other symbol, you get the number instead. You can only get the symbol if you use the shift key. Makes no sense to me.
