When I first found this site is was elated. I was looking for information, beyond my own. I never really found that. The qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqNot anymore. cliques, narrow minded people. Snobs. Any site that allows what goes on in the attic, with the hatred and racist remarks has become more than a concern with me. I have no use for neo-nazi's or any site that allows them that forum.
I can't read one more post about what lenes to take, which one to buy or which camera do I need.

Then don't. No one is forcing you to read any posting or the following comments. I don't even click on most of the postings since they are either of (a) no interest, or (b) have a title that is far too ambiguous. I do wish there were occasional directives about that, 'cause sheesh!
What are you doing looking in the attic? I wouldn't go there though I can understand why one would sneak a peek. It reminds me of an old saying: even though you know the milk has gone bad, something compels you to sniff it anyway.

Tom - you haven't been here long so I'm surprised you're ready to leave so soon. There are a lot of good people here and they can help quite a bit in improving your photography. I should have warned you never to go in the attic. There is nothing worth reading there and you do have the option not to go there. Just stick to the sections that are helpful.

The way I look at it is, I read the topics that are of interest to me and avoid the ones that don't. I have no interest in the attic. I, like others, joined this site for the photography information.
As for threads where someone asks what camera or lens to buy, or what lens to take on a trip or vacation, they ask because of the experience and expertise here. Why deny them that? Yes, there are some goofy responses, and yes, there is some elitism and arrogance displayed, but that is no reason to abandon ship. It's easy to chuckle at some of the stuff and just take it for what it is. But don't give up on it.
