I know i'm coming in on the tail end of this Free Sunday and Mother's Day to boot, by the way Happy Mother's Day, but I am in need of opinion. Had some storms come through this afternoon and I got my first rainbow of the season. That's all well and good but when I was processing the shots, I noticed something strange. At first, I went to the front of my lens and checked for dirt of possible watermarks from the rain although I know that the lens was pointed down as I was walking through the last of the rain to the boardwalk. Then I saw that not all of the shots had these odd white streaks at different angles. They started on a shot I took at 4:27.48 PM and ended at 4:32.17 PM. The shot I took at 4:32.29 PM didn't have any streaks. After spending literally hours playing with exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows and anything else I could think of, I came to the conclusion that the streaks were hail. It wasn't raining or hailing where I was standing but may have been hailing 300 yards away over the water. As I said, the phenomenon lasted for only about 4.5 minutes and wasn't apparent on the boardwalk and only visible to the camera. I didn't see it with my eye. The last photo in this series was taken at 4:32.29 PM and shows no streaks. What do you think.

Strange, but definitely something. Did meteorology indicate hail off shore? I would think the hail was rather large to show up like that so far away.
