Did anyone ever take the NYIP on line course? Is it worth the money because i have taken a couple classes that i didn't find that great and felt like i wasted my money. I need a great course because there is nothing around here where i live. thanks for your time

I took it and thought it was well worth the money!
I took the course, but not online, through the mail. I think it is well worth the money spent. You'll learn invaluable lessons. Go for it.
I took the course a few years ago before they had updated it to fully digital. It was OK, but really taught to the lowest common denominator. The feedback I got from the instructors on the "assignments" was pretty vluable, but awfully long in coming. I have heard that the new, fully digital course is better, but still costly. Best course I have taken was given through my local school system's continuing education for adults, both for basic photography skills and for basic Photoshop skills. At 180.00 for each 8 week course I felt is was money well spent. You might check with your local schools' adult/continuing education program.

I am currently enrolled in NYIP and learning ALOT! I am only in Unit2 lesson 8 out of 6 Units and 30 lessons. I am in The Complete Course in Professional Photography. They have a few different courses to choose from. You mail your work in to them and test online. You have student advisors you can email or call to help you. There is also a forum you can go on. I had no idea there was so much to photography. Good luck I hope you find the right school for you.
Hey there! So i'm an NYIP student and so far i'm loving the course! Don't hesitate it is well worth your money :-) They also have a FB page which i found very useful and informative when i was debating if i should take it or not.
By the way, i'm new to the forum so HI everyone! :-P

Im a grad from NYIP. But it was back in the early 50s. Things have changed a lot since then. I did get a lot out of it but I would suggest you hook up with an established pro. as your mentor. You cant beat hands on with someone there to guide you. Where was you when I was getting ready to retire? I tried to hire a young person to teach and hand over the bussness. I could not find any takers. I even put adds in our local papers. Good luck.
