Haven't posted yet and am a little intimidated given the quality of everyone's work here, but finally decided, "What the heck. He's beautiful, even if I don't capture him perfectly. Elliott, my little guy."

My friend the lizard I found lounging at the botanical gardens and chairs are an obsession of mine; they form wonderful symmetrical shapes and patterns, something my photography teacher always taught me to look for when shooting.

The last one is the first time I decided to play with the tone of a photo on line.

I hope you find something you like.

Welcome to the "hog'', lishareading.
Don't be surprised if this thread gets moved to the Gallery located here:
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-5-1.html

I am confused though.
In your heading it says you're from St. Cloud, MN, yet at the bottom of the page you have Dallas listed.

No need to be intimidated by others, yours are good too. I particularly like the last, looking at the skyline through the bridge architecture was a good idea, interesting and 'cool'.

I really like the architectural shots and how you incorporated leading lines to lead the viewer into the photo. The photo of the bridge is cropped too tightly. The top of the arch is cut off and there's heavy vignetting going on. In the photo of the lizard the steel pole is in focus but the lizard is not. The lizard's head needs to be in focus. This would be a good situation to use single point autofocus so you can isolate the focus on the lizard's head. Try to avoid overlapping elements. The red flower is overlapping with the lizard's mouth.

GoofyNewfie: Sorry, I was born in St. Cloud, MN and I live in Dallas, TX. Have lived there for 23 years now, but still do not like to call it my home because I do not particularly like it. I have actually not lived in St. Cloud, MN since 8 months after I married. My husband's job had us moving every 2 years or less until after 15 years of marriage.
