Evers see a Cardnal like this. I assumed he was being abused by other birds (he alwqasy seems to come to the feeder alone. Most others come in pairs). I did some internrt searching and it may be just a molting disorder.
Makes me feel better about my hairline.

I usually have one of those showing up at my feeder every year. Don't know what the problem is.
We have a couple of those here. Someone told me it is caused by a parasite.
Weird that it's just the head. Does it seem to be solitary males with you guys a well.
We have a female as well. I will try to get a shot of her.
It's feather mites. A lot of the cardinals in our yard look terrible around this time of the year. They keep looking worse and worse until their molt in the late summer and fall.
I'm going to have to check my head for mites.
That might not be a bad idea. If any are found don't worry. You'll look much better after your molt around the end of summer. :D
