It's my intention to buy a wide(er) and lens and do more wide angle landscape photography. I'm looking for something like 10 -18 sense for my Sony a33 camera.
Today I drove the White Springs, FL (near the Stephen Foster Folk Cultural Center in White Springs, FL), and took a few shot of the Suwannee River and a railroad shot. These are nothing impressive; but instead of commenting all the time, I decided to star taking pictures.
I like the composition on the second one. You have a strong foreground element as a place to start the journey into the image.

Thanks for the nice comment Bill.

Beautiful shots, Tom!
Thank you very much for the encouragement. I am now in the market for a very wide angle lens (10mm -18mm) and I hope to do more interesting landscapes.
Very nice series Tom, the thing i learned with very wide angle lens is that you need to pay attention to the edges, they tend to curve and get distorted.
I've been playing with wide angle shots too lately. They are especially nice if you can get really close to something in the foreground, especially with landscapes and nature photos. That kind of ties the whole shot together, draws the viewer into it. Keep sharing.

I agree. Have we seen any of yours? My memory is failing so excuse me for asking. If not, however, show us a few.
Thanks

Thanks
It's been a while since I've posted anything but here are the first ones that came to mind. They were shots taken in a burn scar and the wildflowers, thanks to all their new-found sunlight, went nuts. Getting up close with my wide angle allowed me to capture the scenes from near to far even with a shallow aperture (on purpose).
