New Reception Lighting Technique

This is a technique that I have perfected just this week and thought I would pass it on. It involves the use of an on camera speed light with diffuser. I used my Lite Scoop. The camera settings were all manual with the speed light set at 1/32 pwr. (not figured out TTL yet). The key component of this technique is to wait until a large group of emphatic dancers are on the dance floor and then boogie into the middle of the group. Promptly drop flat on your back and spin in a 360 degree circle firing the camera repeatedly at the awestruck dancers.

Not recommended for those over 60 or with recent back surgery. Well, I guess I violated both of those recommendations.

I just reached out for one of the dancers to help me up

Oh I forgot to mention, a couple of stiff drinks before using this technique is a prerequisite.

HAHA, you are lucky one of them didn't grab your leg and keep you spinning. I'd be like a turtle on my back, and would have to wait for them to call the tow truck to flip be back over.

I honestly love getting different angles, but I think I'll leave this one to you.

That floor was really slick and I was surprised I could spin myself so easily. One issue was my knees kept getting in the way. I really don't know what possessed me to do that. I was sitting next to a friend of mine getting some shots when I said "oh no". She said "what?" and I said "I am going to have to go out there and get in the middle of that" and I did.

You are killing me. That's so funny. I would have loved to see it.

I wish. I could rebrand and market myself as the crazy break dancing wedding photographer.

Yeah, if I tried to dive on the floor, I'd break too.
