Vince, I appreciate your enthusiasm in letting us all know. However, I've noticed a lot of posts on UHH that are rumors and nothing substantial. I'd rather be alerted to a hard core fact. Not that I am looking to purchase any new equipment. I'm perfectly happy with what I have and use. It's just the rumors that I find tiresome.

I am sure whatever new Nikon D810 replacement that will eventually come out will be whiz-bang-wow amazing. And will probably have nice enhancements. But, and its a big one, the constant pursuit of new gear will not replace the eye and imagination behind the lens. I've had the D810 for 6 months, and am still discovering new capabilities with this amazing machine.

Bob, Nikon Rumors is usually pretty much on target when they post an update regarding a major camera update like the one due for the D810. The D810 update is something people have been talking about a lot for the past year and wondering when it will arrive. Peter, the admin on Nikon Rumors does not usually post articles that are not fairly certain to happen, or something unsubstantiated that some schlub told him about. I know it is a camera that I am quite interested in and would love to have, but unfortunately at this time I can not afford to upgrade and move up to.
I'd rather read a post like this then another post on what tripod to buy or which camera is better Canon/Nikon for the umpteenth time.

That update will be extremely expensive!

All top shelf full frame camera bodies are expensive, regardless of manufacturer! Wondering if the new Nikon sensor will still be from Sony? Sony is about to announce it's updated a7rII which will update it's current 42 mp sensor to something larger for sure (along with many of the a9 new features as well)

Although I can't predict when, It's my guess the Nikon D810 will be replaced in the near, as opposed to the far, future. My reasoning: 1: I just bought one (9 months ago), 2: The price keeps dropping and they now have a pretty nice sale with a free grip. Whether or not I upgrade will depend upon what's actually offered and at what price. I do use my D810 quite a bit for everything except sports action. Best of luck.
