At 5 am (or around that time) new Zealand is expecting a meteor 'show' I'm going to get up at around 3.30am to make sure I don't miss it... I'm want to get the best possible pictures but still getting to know my camera, what would be the best Manuel settings to set on a Canon sx60 hs or is it better to just put it on auto?
Very informative thank you
I would set to all my manual, including focus. Widest lens setting, widest aperture 30 second exposure, iso start at 400 and adjust from there.
For focus use live view 10x if available and adjust for pinpoint stars.
Tripod obviously and 10 second delay, camera aimed at center of event.
Find darkest skies possible using "dark sky finder".
Practise ahead of time if possible and pray for clear skies and no moon.
Have fun!! And good luck!! Shoot until you drop!!
Well I was up n ready nice clear skies heaps of stars no moon was perfect... but I couldn't get settings right so much that couldn't even capture the stars ๐ after half hour of trying to get settings right was freezing cold n went back to bed.
Expect nothing if you put it on auto. Read some articles on the subject.
It wasn't on auto ๐ n iv found what was set wrong ! And iv done alot of reading up over the day ... So thanks for your un-needed answer๐ก
just be careful not to be too much in the open or you may get hit when one lands !
