The entire family went crusing last week ... I usually carry a Dell Inspiron 15 (weight - about a half-ton) ... for this trip I down-sized to a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 2 in 1 (2 lb, 14 oz) ... enjoyed the smaller footprint in my backpack ... have been thinking about down-sizing my camera also ... !
When we signed-up for the photo package I stopped to look at the cameras for sale ... as I was longingly going over a Canon SX60 HS my spousal unit told me to get it if I wanted it and also asked what I would do with my "old" camera ... at that point my son said that he would gladly take my "old" Canon T4i off my hands ... so, the deal was done ...
Price was a little high at $479.00 (no tax, US warranty), I could have done better but, there it was, in my hand saying "buy me" ... so, I did ... nothing to report, yet, except that I miss the touch screen on my "old" camera!
Note: As an aside - the attached photo was taken with the old Kodak Z990 that I wrote about in an earlier post ... could have been better but the camera was just setting there ...

You will enjoy the amazing Canon Bridge SX60. I have two SX50s and while I have a DSLR Sony A65, I grab the SX50 for weight and simplicity. Excellent quality photos.
Wow, long ago a great series the Kodak Z cameras, had one, good for their day. Z-950? hard to recall.
I have a Canon SX50. These cameras are perfect for cruises/Disney parks etc. Light weight with great zoom and full option modes. My sister loves her Rebel, but after hours of carrying it around her neck and lugging a bag with extra lenses, she's now looking to get a bridge Canon. I tried to tell her....lol!
I have the 60 and it is a wonderful camera. You made a good choice. You paid about $50 more than the price today on Amazon.com so don't sweat it! That $50 means literally nothing over the long haul of your 60 ownership. Have fun learning your new camera.
I used to carry two cameras on mountain backpacks and climbs (one shirt pocket size bridge and one higher megapixel zoom camera).
Since I bought the famous Canon's champion SX50HS a few years ago I carry three cameras.
It is still a better, more flexible and lighter combination than my large FF SLR's and lenses.
Good Luck and happy shooting with an extremely practical tool RLSeipleSR!
Hello, I have the Canon SX40 and the SX50. They are incredible cameras. All the setting options can give you the ability to take some incredible shots. Example: Face recognition, memory of moving objects, telephoto zoom, slow motion video, HD video, and many more. I mainly use the C1 setting that I have programmed and it does great for my shots. I carry one or the other cameras along with my Canon T5i. You can checkout many of the pictures and videos I took with both of those cameras at photosbybones.com You will not be disappointed. Happy shuttering.
