Recommendation thru experience

I've been toting my camera, lenses and accessories everywhere I go. AND will continue to do so....

I've been fortunate to travel a great deal of the world and our great country taking pictures, for my own, and family's pleasure.

But with both the shoulder bag and lens case it's just a bit awkward.
I'd like to get a "sling" bag or a "back pack" to carry all my equipment instead.

Protection for my equipment, ease of carry, and convienent access are my key points.

My equipment consists of:
Canon 7D Mark ii,
3 lenses, (10-22mm, 24-105mm, and a 70-200mm),
flash, assorted filters,
couple extra batteries & charger, memory cards, connector cables, lens cleaning kit.

Weight is not really an issue as much as carrying 2 bags with straps over my shoulder through airports, on buses, etc. (They just slide off my shoulders at inconvientent times).

I've been searching on line looking at various bags but unfortunately not all of them show you pics "loaded" with equipment.

So I'm asking for your recommendations, based on your experience, (and similar volume of equipment as me), not only a brand, but a model number.....

My problem is Dimensions don't mean much (to me), as you never really know if you made the right choice until the dividers are in place with your equipment).

Thanks to everyone in advance. 😁

LowePro (www.lowepro.com) has a tool on their site that allows you to size your bag based on the equipment you have. It works. I've been carrying a LowePro Pro Runner 450AW for a few years. It's still in one piece, with no tears, worn spots nor broken zippers.

Thank you, not a bad idea for my "outings". I'll check it out. Do you have a brand?

This is what I have...and I love it...will hold all of your gear and more.
Both a backpack and a wheeled case which makes it very versatile.

Actually I've already purchased 2 and sent them back as either they were too big and my components moved around too much. Seems the larger packs always expect you to carry a laptop also, or just too small and I didn't have enough room for my 70-200 when attached to the camera.

The pieces I listed are what I travel with when flying.
It doesn't include my prime lenses, or other telephotos.
(I really should "weed thru" and keep just what I use most of the time) - LOL

Thanks for your comment.

Always a challenge. The only advice i can offer based on your mention of sling bags sliding off your shoulder is: shoulder bags are best carried across our shoulders/chest. I have a professional friend who lost his bag to a thief who ran up from behind, slipped his arm under the strap and pulled his bag full of equipment right down his arm and away!!! Crossing the straps is a bit awkward but pays dividends!1

I've had the 350AW for four years - nice product.

I have a TEKNIQ bag. It is 3 bags in one. It is a backpack but can be taken apart to be a sling bag or small shoulder bag. The straps and dividers are all removable. I have a D500 and can put the camera with an attached lens and 3 more lens in the large part of the bag. I then put my accessories --- extra battery, filters, etc in the top section.

This is my "go to" bag now.

In planning for a trip to Hawaii 2 years ago, I settled on the Mindshift 25L. Carried a D800, a D7100, 4 FX primes, a 70-300 zoom, 2 DX zooms, battery grip, cleaning kit, charger, extra batteries, extra cards. Humped it through 4 airport concourses out and back. Very nicely padded back, shoulder straps and waist belt. I had it loaded out to about 30 pounds. Fits in overhead bins on planes. I carried my Manfrotto tripod in my luggage but it can be carried on the pack as well.
Mindshift makes them smaller and larger. I paid $250 through Amazon.

I've used "Think Tank" bags for many years and have nothing but good things to say about them. I travel a lot and have never hd any problems with their bags. Plus their bags are designed by professional photographers who put them through the paces.
That would be my recommendation if that helps
