Great shots. Just think how glad you will be to see them return in the fall!

And in the meantime, I get an "inflow" for the summer of many more species than I lose! Thanks, for coming by, Carol!

Beautiful shots of your little snowbirds, Bob. I'm already missing our White-throated sparrows and their unique and beautiful songs, but we never have but a junco or two and used to have flocks of them.

I have some large Euonymus shrubs around the deck rail and the White Throated Sparrows always land first in there before cautiously hopping out to feed from the deck. Their feeding habits and their body style makes them land like a much larger bird...I even occasionally mistake their movements for that of a squirrel. I remember Corkie remarked a while back that he could hear their "scratching" among the leaves in the early morning when he went out to feed them. Nice to have an opportunity to see the color changes that occur on these species before they depart!

Thanks for visiting, Donna.

Glad you visited the post, Sylvia! I sure miss your pictures! I really like the colour of the Sparrow also! Such a vivid yellow as he prepared to depart!

Excellent downloads, Bob---very beautiful!

Pleased that you visited post, Corkie! I know that you share their company in the winter months down in the swamps and that you always enjoy it when you hear their "scratching". Hope you have a nice spring!

Bob, my friend, two beautiful photos of two of my favorite winter birds. Gone North but still here in my photo albums. Thanks for sharing.

Greg

Time to start spotting the returnees! So far, I have only seen the Chipping Sparrows (they do go south from here even though you have their company year around). I have still not seen a single hummingbird...I have emptied and put in fresh liquid food for them to no avail. Thanks for viewing and commenting!

well you sure do have 2 awesome shots to remember them by bob...
the downloads of your snowbirds are outstanding!

Thanks for taking the extra time to view in DOWNLOAD! Hope your weather is better than ours...lingering rain and chilly weather are not conducive to getting out! Go on and start your spring...we'll catch up with you later!

Very nice set Bob. Juncos are a primary visitor to my winter back yard and mine have departed as well. I too miss them. It is interesting how we mark the seasons. These are well done, thanks for posting.
