I live in Mesa (next to Phx.) and while these trees are beautiful when blooming, they are also one of the messiest trees around, a constant clean up, but a good photo.

That part is true but I like them. This is one of 8, or so, our neighbor has in his back yard behind us. We have one, a volunteer tree. And thanks above for the correction... he's correct, it is Palo Verde.

Correction, a majority of the above tree is not a Palo Verde, but a close relative of the tree. It is also bark-less and the name has left my memory.
