I'm new to photography. 62 years old. I love outdoor activities and what got me into photography was the disappointing photos I was taking with a point and shoot camera while on backpacking trips in sevral beautiful national parks. I could never capture what I was seeing. A friend was upgrading to a new camera and sold me a "lightly" used Nikon D7100 body. I've since added 5 lenses. I've taken several one-on-one lessons at Precision Camera in Austin. Learning the ropes with the camera and Lightroom. I really like landscapes, wildlife, birds, stars and of course photos of my grandson. I have much to learn and any and all advice is appreciated.

Do you have any idea of how insulting it is to refer to someone in their 60's as a youngster?! Just because someone is in their 70's or 80's doesn't give them the right to demean someone who is younger than they are, even if it's in jest.
Like the OP, I'm in my 60's. I've raised 3 children into responsible adults and they have gifted the wife and I with 5 youngsters, so far.
The meaning of youngster is, a young child.

I wish my knees felt like "youngsters"! My 93 year old Dad still calls me a "youngster". No harm. No foul.
