Not so common, common bird

We have tons of Red-winged Blackbirds around here. Enough that they are almost a nuisance. So I usually ignore them, but right now the males are really showing off during breeding season. They hunch up or spread their wings showing off their colors while they make their loud mating call. The female on the other hand is quite shy and looks like an over-grown sparrow. But the females redeem themselves by weaving an intricate nest often in the tall grass or reeds by ponds.

Beautiful work Greg! Great detail in the always difficult blacks and the epilates are stunning.

Excellent set, GregWCIL and we also have many, as we live on the water, but never tire of them and at this season could listen to them for hours!
