Thank you for your interest in this ad. But I do have to ask. What do you do with your images once captured? A photographers editing system for sale here shows no disrespect to the Admin or anyone who dabbles in this hobby or profession.

This is listed here because it is a computer well suited for image editing. Lightroom and Photoshop require high speed cpu's, Intel's i7 line is consider by many to be the sweet spot processor for such tasks. This particular unit is both high frequency and has hyper-thread technology. Four cores with eight threads is well suited for anyone interested in a speedy post processing workflow.

Perfectly good system for PP work, but as an aside, why would you stripe 2 SSDs as RAID 0? RAID 0 (simple striping with no parity or redundancy) is just for speed, which isn't really necessary with SSDs, and the downside is that every file is striped across two drives, doubling the chance of losing everything in the event of a single drive failure. Just an observation - the new owner can simply use them as two non-striped drives or use them in RAID 1 (simple mirroring ) for redundancy, but only half the usable capacity.

Hello TriX, When seeking advice for a photo editing system, I was advised to go with a gaming computer. I trusted the builder and agreed to let them do as they thought best.

Your logic is sound and I cannot argue your point. To me the raid is just one drive and treated as such, meaning weekly backups and whatever restore points deemed necessary. My plans if one failed were to replace both drives with a larger single drive and load the backup. The raid performs very well as built.

Absolutely understand. Just pointed it out for those that might not be familiar with RAID levels. Good luck with your sale - looks like a very nice machine at a good price.

I have four SSDs in a RAID0 configuration, now while this would be silly for a drive as crucial as a main OS drive, I use it as a cache drive. Personally I would go with a RAID1 for an OS, unless you really needed the speed boost then adding another identical drive and run them in RAID5 would be the way to go. I really don't see any benefit as far as normal photography would be concerned, though it is nice for rendering and compiling large files when I combine images for astrophotography. I do utilize a 64G RAMdisk but many of my astro photos quickly use up this space. Sadly my motherboard is a server form factor so I cannot utilize M2 drives natively, and I have far too many hard drives to consider the add-on PCIe cards needed for their use.

Granted my PC is more designed for auto desk than Photoshop so YMMV.
