A good series of photographs on the subject.
The flight photographs are well timed.
Well taken.

As I said before, "sh*tting Machines, and very effcient at doing it I might add.

And, before anyone complains, yes, I know god made 'em, and man has encroached on their habitat(?), and, and, and they foul the earth everywhere they go.

Ah yes, but they are fun to hunt with both camera and gun.

On a serious note; Yes, on the gun hunting for Canada geese.

We can blame the encroachment (by humans) on their habitat, but you can't back up. First thing is to slow down the human population; but, in the interim humans gotta contain the over population of certain species, e.g., Canada Geese, Deer, Coyotes and a few others.

One stop-gap measure in the town, where I used to live, was to string very thin wire across ponds in the city with proper spacing to prevent geese from landing & taking off.

Tom,
I wish we could slow down the human population. I actually wish we could have zero population, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Ponding basins created all over the US, have contributed greatly to the population growth of resident Canada geese. They are virtually safe from predators, and enjoy a very high survival rate. This is not true of the wild migrating Canada geese. They are subject to natures laws of survival in the wild, and it is a much lower survival rate.

rmm0605...Thank you.

Tom, br I wish we could slow down the human p... (show quote)

You are quite right; so, I'll back off the Canada Geese. Re: migration: I'm originally from S.E. Wisconsin, some migrate & some stay up there winter long. Snow fall there (50" per year) is often not heavy, so they eat frozen grass. Migration is a very interesting subject. Even human beings do it.
