Have you ever planned for a party and worried whether you have enough stuff or the guests will come? Well that was the situation I was in this weekend. Our grandaughter turned 6 on Thurs. and I was planning her 'pirated party' for Sat. evening from 4-6. Our Vacation Bible School was finishing up that day also from 10-2. We have loads of kids at church and the mother's were all saying yes the kids would be coming, excited, have thier pirate stuff, etc. Earlier in the wk I was worried whether enough I would have enough stuff for treasure bags so off to Mobile I go (tired that I was). Have looked for weeks while on my travels for stuff to go into the pirate treasure box. Ordered the the chest at the last minute paying extra for 3 day delivery. The time arrives, we have 17 people, two of which are are our grandaughter and grandson the remaining are adults-great grandparents, aunts, parents, that sort. We had plank walking and a few other games and we all had a good time. But I have to say I was really rather pertrubed about the lack of any other kids coming. This is the first time I have actually planned for any other than family for the birthday. May keep it that way from now on.

It's a Pirate's Life for me!

That is very disappointing for you after all that work. Would like to know what the no-shows had to say. Of course, I mean their parents. I hope your G'kids wern't disappointed. It is wonderful that their G'parents, Aunts & Uncles, etc were there for the children.

Love the picture. So cute!!

Thanks everyone for the comments. The kids did enjoy it and so did the grownup kids, some who even 'walked the plank'. I wasn't about to tempt breaking the board,:) Guess the other kids parents were exhausted from being at the Vacation Bible School family fun day earlier althoug it wasn't like they had to drive 30 min. to get to us. Just wanted to share some fun with you all.
