About 3 weeks ago submitted a post regarding an upcoming Hawaiian vacation (as well as becoming more involved with photography as a hobbyist) and the need for a new camera. I received many very helpful suggestions. Still doing a bit of research over point & shoot, mirrorless, and DSLR. I find myself leaning toward a Fuji X-T1, but also find that it's a bit pricey (at least for me). Haven't had much luck finding a refurbished model. Question: Is it unlikely to find a refurbished X-T1? I've also considered a Fuji X100t (also a bit pricey), but thought the fixed prime lens might prove limiting since this would be my only camera - at least for awhile. Thanks...

Consider the Fuji XY-20. It is a lightweight version of the XT-2 with most of its goodies but much less pricey. Look at https://www.adorama.com/ifjxt20s.html?utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_source=rflaid21866

Altho the X100T is a fine camera with a fast, razor-sharp lens, I agree the fixed lens might well be limiting. If you are only going to have one camera for a while, I strongly suggest either the X-T2 or the X-Pro2. Both seem to be well worth the initial expense. If you are set on thd X-T1, have you looked at KEH, B&H Photo or Adorama for a used one? /Ralph

If you like the Fuji, you may want to take a look at the X-E2 or the X-E2S that are a little smaller and lighter then the X-T1. I have had an X-E2 for a couple of years and am delighted with it.

They all started out costing over $1,000 but they are great retro-looking cameras, don't know why they are hard to find refurbished. Another one to consider is a Fuji X70, an advanced fixed lens point & shoot that can be had new for around $700.00. Another Olympus mirrorless is the OM-D E-M 10, that costs around $600-$700. All are fantastic cameras. Good luck.

Fuji X100t- Fixed 25mm lens - Fuji X-T1 Interchangeable Fuji X mount lenses

Check used at www.keh.com and www.bhphotovideo.com.

B&H has several of the X-T1 body only at $599.95 and up, and the X-T1 with the 18-55mm lens at 1,099.95.

I asked Fuji about refurbed cameras - they responded that they do not sell their gear in official refurb form; used is your only choice. /Ralph

B&H has a pretty good selection of used XT10's in very good to like new condition mostly hovering around $500 - The XT10 is to the XT1 as the new XT20 is to the XT2. I am seriously thinking about getting one myself for casual shooting mainly because it has a built-in flash, and is a little smaller and lighter overall with pretty much the same characteristics as its more expensive sibling in terms of performance and IQ. The main negatives (for me-YMMV) are the lack of weather sealing and the downgraded EVF.

DP Review has a great comparison of the XT10 vs XT1 at:

Loved my Fuji X-E1 and now have a X-E2 for travel.
Small enough to carry everywhere, fantastic lenses, great color.
For me, Fuji has the most intuitive menu system I've ever used...other than a film camera.
The photos from Europe in my website link were taken with the X-E1 and the 18-55 "kit" lens.

Ha, ha, Ray ....... you're in the wrong country dear chap ....... here in the UK you can buy refurbs (cameras and lenses) direct from Fuji's online store. Though they do get snapped up quickly.

Check this page under the "Digital Cameras" and "Lenses" tabs ......

Harry - X-T10 has many of the most-needed features of the X-T1, yes. However I'd strongly advise getting both cameras in your hands before making any buying decision. The size, hold, feel, along with usability of the buttons may well be the deciding factor. You're also right to be considering the viewfinder ...... that of the X-T1 might again be a deal-decider once you've experienced it.
