I just posted photos of a Cactus Wren and Warbler I got today at Rock Hound State Park. I also was lucky enough to get shots of these 2 mating butterflies mating. I'm not an expert butterfly guy but I think they are Black Swallowtails. Actually, one looks very different from the other so I'm not sure if I am correct. These two mates actually flew while remaining attached like this several times while I was trying to get photos. Help with IDing which be much appreciated. Nature is pretty awesome!!

I googled butterflies of New Mexico. I think these maybe either 'Astyanax' Red-spotted Purple (Limenitis arthemis astyanax) or Red-spotted Purple (Limenitis arthemis). Here's the link I used

I am not sure of your location, but these are not red spotted purples, but regular swallowtails with tails on their hind wings (red spotted purples don't have that). They resemble spicebush swallowtails:
