Not sure we're to put this but I have a Nikon Coolpix5700 that I want to get rid of. I'm sure it needs repair and over all checking. I'm interested in getting a new camera preferably Canon or Sony. Should I try selling this here, eBay or just a rummage sale⁉ Thank you!

In good working order, they go for about 20$ on eBay. If it works, keep it for a spare or give it to some kid.

Make sure when you sell it here you title it "PARTS ONLY" cause it is broken. (who would want it, but you never know) Better yet, have someone put you on u tube dropping that camera and faking you broke it, you cry, you pout, and then throw the camera as hard as you can against a brick wall and you just walk away, it would also make a great paper weight.

Yes, the Re-Sale market for this Camera is not very good, Save it for a Friend, Family member, who might show an interest in learning Photography,it will be a good Starter Camera for them, as it was for you.

There is a specific area ton this site you are encouraged to "Sell Equipment", toward the end below.

As others have pointed out, re-sale value is not worth the trouble. And if it needs work, you will not be offering a camera that is worth even the typical re-sale value.

If it works OK, and you want to sell it, a yard sale would be good. But I like the suggestion another person made to give it to someone, but only if it is in fairly decent, if not perfect shape. You don't want to disappoint the giftee... If it is junk, treat it like junk - recycling bin or garbage.

I like the idea of giving it to a relative or aquintance and explain to them it's limitations. If there's no takers for a freebie, don't bother trying to sell it.

Finding a buyer for a 15 year old digital camera will be hard. And as it's broken, I can't imagine anyone wanting to pay money for it... even "for parts".

If it is not worth giving it away, take it to a Best Buy or some other place where it can be recycled. Don't add to the electronic garbage.

Actually folks, I gave it to a Thrift Shop to let them get rid of it. One less thing off my plate! Thanks for the input and smiles I got.

I would suggest you consider the Nikon D3300 or D3400 for your first DSLR camera. I have the D3300 with a Nikon Prime 35mm 1,8g lens, the Nikon 18-55 vrII kit lens, and the Nikon 55-200 VRII lens. I am a DSLR beginner and am in the process of learning.
