How to catch a fish when you don't have thumbs.

We FINALLY have been blessed with some sunny days. To take advantage of that I put my 1.4x teleconverter on my 100 -400L mk ii lens. While at the pond I realized there were cormorants flying overhead. HMMM, I then remembered that the herring were running in the river so I headed over to the other side of town to the dam and fish ladder, sure enough there were about a dozen birds fishing at the top of the dam. It was mid morning, the sun was at my back so I gave it a go. My big regret while capturing this sequence was that I had failed to set my ISO higher so my speed was too low, but it was such a kick to see this happen. PS I'm pretty sure that this fish is a trout and not a herring.
Used:
canon 7D2
100-400LMk2
1.4 teleconverter
f8
ISO 400

Thanx...there were several more in the sequence, however they were a bit out of focus due to my negligence.

It's amazing how they turn the fish around without losing it. Nicely done and interesting series.

Well, I was rooting for the trout. Oh well. I hope the cormorant gets indigestion.

Yes it is. The bird actually dropped it twice but in the end the fish lost.
