I've been stalking these exotics ever since I moved to Texas and usually found them running full tilt going somewhere important to them. This afternoon in bright sunlight and quite by surprise I managed to spy this group at the end of a cut in brush and was able to capture several pictures of them without spooking them at all. Please try the downloads.

Wow, Jim. These are beautiful. They must be Axis Deer. How wonderful to have such beautiful creatures in your area. Great job.

Great catch. I've seen them before and I know they spook easily.

Thank you Carol, they are indeed Axis deer and we have a herd of about 25 that roam ours and surrounding properties; this particular group was in a cut just off our property line and far enough away from me that they didn't spook. I was out to close to 1200 mm for most of these shots. Thank you for your visit and nice comment my friend.

Thanks Wayne and you are so right; before this capture I've seen them after they've seen me and usually running full tilt. Thanks again.

Thanks so much MT; I definitely had that bucks attention but he felt he was far enough away so that I couldn't harm him and he just posed there riveted on me snapping his picture. So many great pictures so little time LOL. Thanks again my friend.
