Canon 6D; 24-105 f/4L @28mm.
ISO 100; f/11; ss=1/250
My main problem with the B&W is that the water fades into the picture on the far right, where it is more pronounced in the color pic. There might be more issues with either one or both.
Thanks for looking and for any comments.
Black and white for sure. However, the issue you mentioned with the water can be approached with a simple question. What is the subject of the photograph? Obviously, it's not the water.

I like the bw most for this subject.

Initial flash impression was B&W - -
BUT I ALWAYS like the COLOR versions Better, so wondered WHAT it was about the Color that threw me off.
For me, there is too stark a contrast between the house and grass versus the poke-ya-in-the-eye BLUE of the sky.
Perhaps fading the blue saturation in just the sky (so you don't lose the water) would fix it for me ?
The sky looks more sinister in black & white.
A B&W subject for sure.
Don
Thanks, Beowulf. Appreciate it.

Thanks, Bob. You make a good point, and of course it's not the water. So, my point about the water becomes irrelevant. Thanks again for your comment.
Thanks for your choice, Kmgw9v. Appreciate it.

Thanks for looking and your choice, Karin. Much appreciated.
I agree with rmalarz that for most viewers, the water will be just an afterthought, even with the color shot. Is there different access where you could include more water and still have an interesting perspective of the house?
The small thumbnails are hard to view, but overall the leafless tree and unkempt foreground add to the mood of abandoned, and the b&w serves that mood.
