Beautiful shot, Bob and I love that it was your mother's Christmas cacuts.... I have my mom's African Violet and it's almost 40 years old...

Pleased that you visited, Angela! I have never had very good results growing African Violets...also never tried the "leaf-Rooting" method of propagation.

Beautiful capture, Bob! It is truly a lovely flower.

Thanks, Carol! Many years ago the plant produced a "sport" branch that was much darker color than the original plant. We allowed the sport to remain along with the lighter colored original blooms so that now the parent plant is about half and half. This photo is from one of the mutated branches. Hope you're enjoying a nice week!

Happy that you came by, Randy! Every day I find new ways to support my doubts as to the truth of your comment!...then again, who would like their wine from the 2016 vintage! Always glad when you add your comments!

African violets are so easy to care for... just put the pot in a bowl and add the water to the bowl. Never water from the top or get the leaves wet. I only water mine once a week and they are always with flowers! I've had 3 leaves in dirt to propagate, June will be a year, they're still alive, but haven't sprouted yet.
