I have seen this beautiful old barn many times on this quiet North Carolina road, and watched it deteriorate through the years. Still a real beauty.

Yes, quite nice. Old weathered houses and barns are great with IR photography.

I love old barns. Stop turn the engine off and listen. Here the kids playing around the barn? Barnyard dog watch everything barking his/her warning when need be. Horse drawn wagon backing to the barn. Old tractor heading out to the fields. All the animals waking up for feeding time. My uncle had bought an old dairy farm as a highway split his in two. I use to deer hunt across the cornfield and up a small hill from the barnyard. Out before dawn I'd sit in a tree watching for deer. Soon a light always came on a half hour before dawn. Then as the night turn to gray a barn owl would fly into the hay loft. Soon enough the first rays of light would warm the old barn. Uncle never asked and I never told him where his chickens were going. Aunty had a love affair with barn owls. Start the engine and idle away as the noise form the old barnyard dies off. It's all in the picture.. Good job.

Thank you very much, jjbrenner. Who doesn't have an old barn in their past?

Thank you, lamiaceae. This is not IR, but a nice sepia treatment that I use a lot. I think it gives it the antique feeling I love.

Nice old barn. Its great when you can record these old beauties before they are gone. I have shot a few locally that are no more and I am glad I did

You are so right, woodsman. They are literally all over this area. It's obvious the owners love them as well, as they leave them until they become dust.

I like what Fishbelt posted. Your Barn image tells a story. If only this Old Barn could talk, Can you imagine the stories that it could tell.
