Sky was kinda flat and I'll probably crop, add some contrast and clone out the poles.
I love tulips, we have some small splashes of tulips and daffodils mixed in the garden and they are absolutely beautiful at the moment. I see you are using the 1.33x mode on your D7100. How do you find this for wide angle scenes, I shy away from it because of the reduced pixel number but do sometimes use it for birds. What happens to those tulips, are they used solely as a beautiful display or part of a sales drive? I tried to take a field of yellow rape seed plants yesterday but it is so windy here at the moment it just turned out blurry so I am waiting for a calm day as this is also a beautiful sight.
Beautiful shots. I love the composition and perspective of the second shot-left to right diagonals and the bands of green defining the border of the tulips. I also very much like the color contrasts of the flowers in that shot! 🌷

I actually went to this commercial tulip farm as part of a class sponsored by Nikon and the local brick and mortar shop. The instructional part was pretty basic and covered the "exposure triangle", Nikon's naming convention ("micro" v "macro"), DOF, magnification comparisons, etc. The farm retails tulip bulbs and cut flowers to the public and wholesales to garden centers and nurseries.
The 1.33x mode was an inadvertent operator error. I don't believe I've ever used it before. I used several lenses, a Nikkor 16-85 and a sigma 10-20. FWIW, these were 3-4 stacks & shot at f/8.

Thanks for the info. Allen, that sounds like a nice opportunity to shoot with other camera enthusiasts, I would like to do that.
Excellent photos Allen. I am not picking one over the other, as both are outstanding displays of these gorgeous tulips.
Such beauty in the downloads! Thanks!
