I found this article on:
https://superuser.com/questions/640397/repairing-corrupted-pen-drive it helps to restore a thumb drive back to working condition
With all the little things that can go wrong I thought anyone here on UHH would use this if they ever had such a problem. Hope some can use this.
Go down to the number 5 area and follow it using DISKPART
Thanks! Good to know. That "DISKPART" command comes in very handy. I've had to use it many times.
I haven't used the "remove safely" thing for years, and never have a problem.
All such devices have lights on them that flash when being written to. Wait for the flashing to stop, and it can be removed safely. All the tool does is wait for the writing to finish; nothing you can't do yourself.
Why have the tool? Because so many people think that their computer writes to these drives as fast as it does their internal drives, and pull the drive too soon. Just wait (you have to wait for the tool, anyway) then pull it.

I know most tricks for recovering flash drives, and they still don't work all the time. Diskpart, drive manager, HP format tool, and so on.
