Hi All, I have been active behind a shutter for many years as an amateur. I shot 4 x 5 B &W for many years but in
recent years have moved to digital. I am currently using Sony A7II and A7RII love the cameras and
lenses.
We are heading to S Africa in May and I plan to take the 2 Sony bodies and 10-18, 24-70 and 70-400 lenses.
I am wondering if I don't need a camera raincoat for Victoria Falls? I have been discouraged on taking
a tripod (Which I much prefer) and will take a mono pod in place? I also will take a bean bag for stability
while in the Landrover. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
I am really enjoying reading the questions and replies in Ugly Hedgehog!

The rain cover is worth taking. It's cheap insurance and doesn't add much weight to your collection. It sounds like you're set with what you need to take. Just make sure you have extra batteries, an appropriate electrical converter, and extra memory cards. Others may offer more suggestions.

Monty, Monty, Monty.... Just get one of the spring-loaded walking sticks with a 1/4-20 camera mount on top and a round plastic ball over it. Great dual-purpose tool.
If camera and lenses are not water resistant/proofed, then you probably want protection if you want to get right into the falls.
