So i got the new windows 10 update and things went strange. desktop changed and could not see any photos in LR or even on the photo section of windows. System was put in a "test" mode. Got my system back up to where it was but test is still there was seen today as I turned on computer had to choose either test or bob. How do I remove the nes test set up by windows. I am also concerned about doing any LR work where fwill it go and what happens as I back up system. Any help by the computer wise.
thank you for your help Labtrainer not computer savvy but my brother in law is stopping by to help. It sure would be nice if they reset things as they were.

You can go to Settings>Update>Update History and uninstall the latest update. that would put you back where you were before the update.

Another good reason to set up recover points. Get your brother-in-law to help if necessary. Also useful to recover from virus/malware attacks. Recover points are essentially snapshots of the system made at particular intervals that you decide, allowing you to return to the state at which the particular recover point was made (such as before an upgrade).

Perhaps another good reason for us holdouts to continue with Win 7 Pro and not move to Windows 10. It's been out how many years and they still haven't gotten in correct? MS says they will continue to support Win7 Pro until sometime in 2020 and it works so why change now?

Well I like windows 7 also and understand your feelings (if it ain't broke why fix it?) but 10 is a really good release - best windows yet in my opinion (and many others). You do hear about occasional issues on the Hog, but you don't usually hear about the thousands of successful installs and upgrades, I have done a myriad of Win 10 installs, and all are rock stable IF your system is up to date with all patches before the upgrade. There is the occasional " horror story", but it's a small minority of the installed base. Btw, it's worth reading the definitions of the various levels of MS support, especially for Win 7, limited support will continue to be available, but not the full support you enjoyed prior to the win 10 release. On the other hand, I haven't had to call MS support since WFWG.
Hi there: When ever Microsoft does an upgrade and it manages to screw up my windows 10 I just call them and the guy remotely takes over my mouse and goes through weird code pages of writing on my computer screen and fixes the problem. Its free when ever they do an upgrade and they want to know what problems people are having so they can fix them. I use to be a guinea pig (I got free software for my time) for them years ago, one time while I was messing with a new version of word when the screen went blue and I said out loud "what a piece of sh*t... typical Microsoft crap" and then they turned the lights on behind this huge window and there was about 80 Microsoft employees looking at me like I was the bad guy, I was so embarrassed I never went back even though they called my once a month being I lived just up the street from them. Point is they want to fix their problems so call them and they will take care of you.
Thank you one and all.
