I wasn't too surprised when I learned that Popular Photography Magazine was suspending their magazine. I was about halfway through a 3 year subscription and wanted to know about a refund for the unfulfilled portion.
I contacted the subscription service I used and they informed me that that I would be receiving Popular Science in its place.
I'm satisfied .

Do I have to contact them about my sub.,, or will they do it automatically?

So, you did not get a choice, they just said, OK, your'e getting popsci from now on? When you order from Amazon, do you except whatever they send if they are out of your original selection?

My subscription had almost expired, so I got a $1.50 refund for the $5.00 I paid for a year.

How much time is left on your subscription? Mine has already run out - this month - but they gave me credit.

When I found out that Popular Photography had ceased publication I called customer service and was promptly issued a refund for the unused portion of my 3 year subscription. I was not offered the option of taking Popular Science. I learned later via an email inquiry that the subscriptions would automatically be transferred to PS. I would still call customer service to make certain.

I had not heard that Pop Photo was giving up. I had come to the conclusion I wasn't going to renew when my current sub runs out in a couple of months anyway. They were long on paragraph or quarter page "sound bites" but very short on anything of substance or informative articles. I feel their testing was about the only really good work they did. I started getting Outdoor Photography several years ago and still find it my first choice for a photo magazine. If you are happy with Pop Sci, great. If you are looking for another photo magazine, may I suggest Outdoor Photo.
