No, I wasn't smoking or drinking anything. I was just playing! A fellow I know has lights that he uses to throw coloured lights on stuff at night. It's so cool to photograph stuff that way. I had trouble getting my camera to focus, so these probably won't stand up to any pixel-peeping. But the colours are fun!

This was done at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum.

Very cool, Kathy. Good work in capturing the lighting and the subjects.

Very cool shots Kathy. When I looked at the first one I almost expected to see some fish swim by.

I never know what to expect from you, but your surprises are always enjoyable.

Thanks. I've done this before but never on plants. That was very different.

Thanks. I think the aloe was more fun. There were more possibilities.

The colours were very pronounced. I actually toned them down a bit. Thanks so much for dropping in.

What a fun idea! Do you have control over how many colors and where they're aimed?

Well, yes and no. The fellow set them up before we started and was moving them around a bit during the shoot. I guess we could have asked him to put certain colours in certain places, but I'm not sure anyone did. He did move around among the shooters and shine flashlights to allow us to focus better, but I didn't hear anyone asking him to move colours. Two of the things had rotating colours on them, so, for example, the colours on the mountain behind the building changed - sometimes in the middle of an image!
