Nesting Goose

I have to start talking myself into shooting higher shutter speeds, and higher ISO when using a zoom (Just have to tell myself that I don't have to shoot at ISO100). Not near as crisp as they should have been. Also, missed a full reflection on the Goose in the water....

Walking through a local park, I came upon this nesting Canadian Goose. I was surprised her nest was above me in the hollow of an old tree about 18-20' up.

I think the D5500 has the auto iso feature for manual shooting. Try it out, I think it will help you. Adjust your shutter speed and aperture to fit your situation and the camera will do the rest. Also, don't forget about spot metering. Have fun and keep posting.

Thanks, pretty sure you are right about the D5500 with auto ISO. Also definitely going to switch over to spot meter for these types of shots. May try again tomorrow, and see what comes of it. Take my time, and breath....
