I was re-building my daughter's flower bed tonight. Grabbed a piece of 4x4 to find a dragon fly sitting on it. Grabbed the camera and shot it a few times. It was windy and I guess it just wanted to stay put for a while.
When I needed the wood, I decided to let the little girl lend her finger for a while. It stayed on her finger for about 20 minutes until she had to leave. It had to be forced to take flight.
A little whom my daughter babysit lent her finger.
What a lovely creation you captured in you shot, those delicate looking wings that enable them to fly backwards,up and down or stay in one spot.
She was very helpful in staying still for me.
Wow! That's amazing it stayed on her finger. I can never get one to stay in one place, let alone, a finger.
Thanks vicksart.
Yes, I was amazed that it stayed there for so long. She was just walking around the yard with the DF on her finger as if it was tamed.

?? You keep a Macro lens on your camera as a walk-around ?? Or was there a quick lens change before you got the shots ?? Whatever - - very nice :)
An insect flew right on my hand and I ran with that insect on my hand to get my point and shoot and I got off two frames before it flew away. That insect on my hand has been used by blogs and websites for illustration purposes. That was serendipity or happy accident. That was something that I never expected to happen. It has not happened again since then.
Insect on my hand, it flew on it
Those photos of that dragonfly really falls into that serendipity mode. Those dragonfly photos are priceless as they will probably be one of a kind in a long time to come.

LOL not really. It was my Fuji HS10. Bridge with a "one size fits all" lens. Turned out OK. It was so windy, I think she just didn't want to go anywhere.
Thanks Angler and Katkase for the kind words.
