I'am new to photography. I have an old Canon Mark 1 and a 50mm 1.4 lens.Trying to capture my furry babies [horses] in the best light and conditions.My wife and I have been around horses all are lives.My wife is perfect for me and horses come in second. Any suggestions on taking great pictures? Thank you

Welcome. Ask yourself, what am I trying to say in the image. If what your brain tells you and what you see is in the viewfinder..click...if not change something.Second quality of light is very important.
